Welcome to the Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing (IGA)!
IGA was set up timely by Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in 2013, with our roots of being the first and largest Geriatric Medicine department in Singapore since December 1988.
Caring for our ageing population entails unprecedented challenges, demanding our health systems to adapt and respond quickly to the needs of our older persons. However, this also presents great opportunities for mindset shifts into the positivity of ageing and older persons, integration and alignment of health and social care systems, advocacy and awareness of issues pertaining to older persons, among others.
Synergising our Research, Innovation and Education pillars of work, IGA aims to drive geriatrics and gerontological programmes that ultimately improve the quality of life of our older persons through multi- and interdisciplinary collaborations. We invite like-minded partners to join us in our endeavour of building a better community for our older persons.
